From’s de­ci­sion to throw us in at the deep end – there’s a vague hint of a quest – is re­fresh­ing, putting the im­pe­tus on the player to stride out into the world alone; just don’t ex­pect an easy time. The nar­ra­tive is your own, crafted from your deeds, ap­proach and (many) deaths. Dark Souls is dif­fi­cult, so it won’t be for ev­ery­one, but take it on with a steely de­ter­mi­na­tion and you won’t be sorry. – Washington Post
