Corruption allegations over ‘huge oil deal plan between taxi body, MP’
A DISGRUNTLED former employee of the SA National Taxi Council (Santaco) has blown the lid off a massive oil deal plan between the taxi body and an MP.
In papers filed in the Johannesburg Labour Court, Stanley Seiti has accused suspended Santaco president Jabulani Mthembu, CEO Bongani Msimang and Transport portfolio committee chairwoman Ruth Bhengu of “corruption”.
This relates to an oil deal which Seiti claims Santaco Trading – an investment arm of the taxi body – was planning to enter into with Bhengu’s company, Riblore 22 cc, which would ensure bulk supply of petroleum to the taxi industry.
Bhengu confirmed that negotiations had taken place between her company, Mthembu and Santaco general secretary Phillip Taaibosch and that at a later stage these involved Msimang.
