Gautrain violin saga ends on a high note

Weekend Argus (Saturday Edition) - - NEWS - EDDY DELCHER

A MUSICIAN who forgot a R50 000, 85-year-old violin on the Gautrain got an early Christmas present when the prized instrument was recovered – with a little help from a friend.

Herman Steyn, formerly of DNA Strings, was in despair over his loss when a friend phoned to say his Hawks and Son violin had been found on the Gautrain. Security had found his violin and the friend’s business card was in the case.
