Marine industrial site could have massive potential

Weekend Argus (Saturday Edition) - - PROPERTY -

A LARGE industrial site zoned for maritime and marine industrial use, which is under the curatorship of Andrew Maralack of Sizwe Business Recoveries, will fall under the ClareMart Auction Group gavel at its July multiple commercial and investment property auction.

“This large site consists of two buildings and has views of the harbour and Chapmans Peak. Although zoned for ship building and marine engineering, developers may find it an ideal location for restaurants and markets,” says executive director Andrew Koch.

Erf 4374 Harbour Road, Hout Bay, has one three-storey face brick building and a large warehouse. The three-storey structure has an open plan ground floor or show area, a firstfloor reception area with five offices, and living quarters on the second floor.

“Traditionally, this building would be a shipwright’s office, accommodation and showroom and could potentially be used, with the prescribed permissions and rezoning, as a restaurant and harbour-front eatery or deli,” says Koch.

Erf 4374 Harbour Road will be auctioned at the Radisson Hotel on July 31 at 12.30pm.
