Long be­fore Ash­ton met Demi or To­pher got lost in Traf­fic, the mak­ers of Third Rock from the Sun stepped into the way­back-when-ma­chine and emerged with That 70s Show. Set in the sub­urbs in 1976, the ac­tion cen­tres on 17-year-old Eric For­man (To­pher Grace), his fam­ily and his friends – Jackie (Mila Ku­nis), Michael (Ash­ton Kutcher), Steven (Danny Master­son), Donna (Laura Pre­pon) and Fez (Wilmer Valder­rama). He’s an or­di­nary teenager, with an in­ter­est in girls, cars, beer, and rock ‘n’ roll (but not nec­es­sar­ily in that or­der). View­ers can look for­ward to three sea­sons worth of an ado­les­cent bap­tism of fire set against the back­drop of the hot so­cio-cul­tural is­sues of the 1970s, in­clud­ing fem­i­nism, sex­ual at­ti­tudes, gen­er­a­tional con­flict, teenage drug use, the in­tro­duc­tion of the tele­vi­sion re­mote (“the clicker”), the video game Pong, Mad mag­a­zine and Star Wars.
