Young people took Mandela Day to heart
THREE out of five young South Africans surveyed on their Mandela Day activities reported getting involved in activities to mark the event on July 18.
Sixty-one percent of the nearly 2 000 respondents, weighted to be nationally representative, said they did something to “make a difference” on the day, consumer insights company Pondering Panda said.
Seventy-one percent of 15 to 17-year-olds said they did something on the day, as did 61 percent of 18 to 24-yearolds, and 56 percent of 25 to 34-year-olds. – Sapa
