BBC man’s child sex sen­tence dou­bled

LON­DON: A vet­eran BBC pre­sen­ter who was jailed last month for child sex abuse had his sen­tence dou­bled to 30 months yes­ter­day, af­ter a Lon­don ap­peal court ruled it was “un­duly le­nient”.

Stu­art Hall has been a well­known face on Bri­tish tele­vi­sion for the past 50 years, pre­sent­ing shows such as It’s a Knock­out.

The 83-year-old was orig­i­nally sen­tenced to 15 months af­ter plead­ing guilty to 14 counts of in­de­cent as­sault on girls as young as nine.
