Bar: HQ Address: 100 Shortmarket Street Contact: 021 424 6373 Twitter: @HQCAPETOWN Cocktail: Figments Price: R70 Ingredients: Don Julio Reposado tequila, two spoons of fig jam, cloudy apple juice, white wine vinegar and a fig HEAR ye, hear ye, this is my tequilabased cocktail pick. HQ barman Allan Miselo makes the drink by shaking the ingredients and serving it on cubed ice, with a crushed ice cap over.

It tastes sweet and sour, and the tequila is accented by the fig flavours. The drink has a healthy dose of tequila which is never a bad thing.

The popular steak restaurant launched its new cocktail menu two weeks ago, featuring spirits from the World Class range.

On Saturdays, the restaurant now hosts an event called #HQReserve, featuring a swing singer doing covers of Michael Bublé and others.

The place is well known for its pre-selected steak, chips and salad menu and is often booked out on Mondays for its two-for-one special.

The Heritage Square establishment now offers comedy on Wednesday nights on a newly created stage facing the bar.

The bar is open from noon, Mondays to Saturdays, and its kitchen closes at 10.30pm.

There are two dinner sittings: one at 6pm and the other at 8.30pm. – Wendyl Martin
