Pi­rates star’s un­cle wounded

AN UN­CLE of Or­lando Pi­rates de­fender Siyabonga Sang­weni was shot and wounded near KwaMbonambi yes­ter­day, KwaZulu-Natal po­lice said.

The un­named man was taken to a nearby hos­pi­tal.

An at­tempted mur­der docket was opened.

Ear­lier, Or­lando Pi­rates ad­min­is­tra­tor Floyd Mbele said the un­cle had been shot by one of Siyabonga Sang­weni’s sib­lings. He did not name the sib­ling.

Siyabonga, 31, has two brothers who play for clubs in the Pre­mier Soc­cer League. Tham­sanqa, 24, plays for Mamelodi Sun­downs, and Mandla, 26, is goal­keeper for AmaZulu. – Sapa
