Pirates star’s uncle wounded
AN UNCLE of Orlando Pirates defender Siyabonga Sangweni was shot and wounded near KwaMbonambi yesterday, KwaZulu-Natal police said.
The unnamed man was taken to a nearby hospital.
An attempted murder docket was opened.
Earlier, Orlando Pirates administrator Floyd Mbele said the uncle had been shot by one of Siyabonga Sangweni’s siblings. He did not name the sibling.
Siyabonga, 31, has two brothers who play for clubs in the Premier Soccer League. Thamsanqa, 24, plays for Mamelodi Sundowns, and Mandla, 26, is goalkeeper for AmaZulu. – Sapa
