Robbers hit Kenilworth Pick n Pay
POLICE are trying to track down three robbers who, armed with an axe and knives, held up staff at a Kenilworth Pick n Pay and locked them in a refrigerator yesterday.
The incident unfolded at about 5.50am.
Yesterday police spokesman Captain Frederick van Wyk said the three robbers walked into the shop and threatened staff with knives and an axe.
“They robbed the staff of cellphones and locked them in a walk-in fridge and forced the manager to open the safe. When the manager couldn’t open the safe they took cartons of cigarettes and fled,” he said.
No one was injured during the incident, and no arrests were made.
