The unit serves Evergreen’s four Western Cape villages through a hub and spoke model and is managed by Unique Health, which delivers healthcare services in all our villages. With 12 frailcare units under its management, Unique Health has significant experience to offer in frailcare and the treatment of dementia, and manages all aspects of the Muizenberg unit, from providing registered nurses and carers to specialist doctors on call.”
The 32-bed frailcare centre is easily accessible in the north wing of Evergreen’s Lifestyle Centre and yet, it is separate and discreet. Whilst providing all the services and facilities of a specialist frailcare facility, it is designed and decorated to feel like a welcoming home. Facilities include a visitors’ reception, large lounge with comfortable furniture and big screen TV’s, stunning views of the village and mountains (through large picture windows) and a sunny enclosed outdoor courtyard with green trees and outdoor relaxing areas.
The spacious dining room is serviced by a well equipped kitchen. Staff offices, an occupational therapy room, consulting doctor’s room and sterile procedure room are tucked away along one corridor.
