37 rescued from syndicate
POLOKWANE: Police believe they rescued 37 Zimbabweans from a human trafficking syndicate and have arrested taxi drivers transporting the victims.
Police spokesman Moatshe Ngoape said they had acted on a tip-off that three taxis were transporting illegal immigrants from Zimbabwe to Pretoria on Thursday. Two taxis were found and police were still searching for the third and its driver.
The two drivers and the victims will appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court soon.
