Husab uranium mine set to boost Namibia
GABORONE: Production at Swakop Uranium’s Husab mine in Namibia is to begin this month. The company’s chief executive officer, Zheng Keping, said the Husab mine production would make Namibia the third biggest producer of uranium in the world.
The company has said it would produce up to 15 million tons of uranium per annum. Production would be gradually increased to reach 50 million tons of ore a year.
Keping said the company would continue co-operating with miners Rossing Uranium and Langer Heinrich.
