-

IF I say to you “that place with the goats” you will immediately know I am taking about Fairview Wine and Cheese.

However, the third- generation family-owned farm in Paarl should not be overlooked for its amazing wines – interesting varietals and some very reasonable prices – as well as the huge range of cheesy products and delicious deli items.

From 11.30am today, Fairview is hosting its first Harvest Table lunch, celebrating the paddock-toplate experience which will bring the farm’s bountiful produce and fruits of the harvest to guests to enjoy in a relaxed al fresco setting.

They will be seated at a long table set under a vine canopy where they can mingle with those around them while sharing platters prepared and conceptualised by the Goatshed restaurant head chef, SJ Nel.

The menu will feature some of Fairview’s finest artisanal produce, including generous servings of its renowned cheeses, breads, olives, charcuterie and home- made preserves.“This year we celebrate the twentieth harvest of our viognier variety for which we have the mother block in South Africa.” says Fairview owner Charles Back.

Tickets are R325 at Quicket. For more information call the Goatshed restaurant on 021 863 3609 or e-mail goatshed@fairview.co.za. For more about Fairview go to www.fairview. co.za
