A familiar face back in the radio business

Weekend Argus (Saturday Edition) - - FRONT PAGE - ROBIN ADAMS

IT’S not just KFM’s on-air roster that’s been reshuffled; there’s been some behindthe-scenes rejigging too.

Popular media personality Saskia Falken is the radio station’s latest acquisition as its new head of marketing. She will manage the look and feel of the KFM brand.

Programme manager Stephen Werner believes there are good times ahead for the station.

“KFM is entering an exciting new era. We’ve put a lot of work into getting the sound of the station right,” Werner said.

“Bringing the dynamic Saskia into the marketingmanager role speaks to our focus of getting all the best people in the most important positions across KFM.”

Falken is best remembered for her midmorning show (9am-12pm) at Heart FM, a slot she hosted for seven years. She makes a return to the radio business after a three-year absence.

Falken completed an MBA with the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business and worked there full-time.

Fulfilling the role of marketing manager, she was responsible for building and leading the business school’s marketing team in ensuring its visibility in South Africa and the continent.

Falken boasts an impressive and diverse CV, and can list former model, assistant fashion editor, TV presenter and radio content producer among her roles.

KFM has a significant reach and broadcasting footprint in the Western and Northern Cape. Its signal stretches as far as Alexander Bay, and if you head east, you’ll still be able to listen in Plettenberg Bay.

Falken’s first order of business is publicising and marketing KFM’s new lineup, which takes to the air on July 3.
