Table Manners This signature Alan Ayckbourn comedy – people dining at a table who spill the beans about their lives – opened at the Masque Theatre, Muizenberg, last night and is on until June 10. Just a Song and Dance Sharyn Seidel and Dara Beth star in this cabaret, directed by Blythe Linger, which is previewing at Alexander Upstairs from June 17-19 at 9pm, ahead of its run in Grahamstown at the National Arts Festival Fringe. Seidel and Beth are mother and daughter and they draw on their experiences in this piece, which combines music, dance and wry commentary about “pets, immigrating and family”.

Hear Our Voices Artscape Youth Development’s Borne Frees will wrap up Artscape’s Youth Month programme, which is on at the complex until July 15. Hear Our Voices, a dance production, is being staged from July 15-17. The Borne Frees project is a platform for 100 young dancers from schools across Cape Town “to express their dreams and concerns”.
