THE SA Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind will host its third annual World Sight Gala Dinner next month in honour of World Sight Day on October 12.

The 2016, The Voice SA winner Richard Stirton will perform, with Afternoon Express presenter Danilo Acquisto emceeing.

Môreson Wine Farm will cater the event, with inspirational speaker, Lois Strachan recounting how she has adjusted to losing her eyesight at 21.

“The gala dinner is our biggest and most important event which raises awareness and substantial funding needed to train more working dogs for Cape Town,” said marketing manager Teagan Schwerin.

“There is no better occasion than hosting this event in commemoration of World Sight Day which this year falls on 12 October 2017. Through training more dogs, we can provide independence, mobility and companionship to our differently abled community.”

All proceeds from the event will go to the association. Tickets are R700 per person. To book a ticket or become a sponsor, contact 021 674 7395 or email TeaganS@guidedog.org.za.
