Bistro, butchery items up for grabs
VELOX will host a catering auction, which principal auctioneer JP Oliver says will be “massive”, at its premises on Tuesday, when the entire contents of a bistro and coffee shop, as well as those of a butchery, will go under the hammer.
The auction will begin at
11am and will feature the same types of equipment that have proved popular at Velox’s past events, Oliver says.
Among the assets on offer will be a three-group Vega espresso machine, a Belgian waffle maker, curved glass deli display units, under-bar fridges, and stainless steel tables and shelves.
“The butchery equipment will include a “32” mincer, an industrial bandsaw, a massive cold and freezer room, a sausage filler, bins and more tables, just to mention a few items,” he says.
The auction assets may be viewed between 11am and 4pm, on Monday, at 27 Stella Road, Montague Gardens.
Oliver says with the holiday season fast approaching – a peak time in the hospitality industry – Velox will hold two big auctions in the first two weeks of December to close off this year.
“We have been fortunate to have had catering equipment of such good quality to auction throughout 2017, and will be featuring more of these items in our December auctions as a result of late revamps at restaurants and other establishments.”
He says Velox has just launched an innovative new “self-managed” online portal, where sellers can “track and trace their assets in real time, as well as the payments after the sale of their assets”.
