Oxfam denies charge
LONDON: Britain-based aid group Oxfam has denied a report that it concealed a scandal in which Oxfam staff in post-earthquake Haiti allegedly paid for sex with young women.
“As soon as we became aware of the allegations, we launched an internal investigation,”
Oxfam said on Friday. The
Times of London, citing a leaked internal report of the charity’s investigation, reported on Friday that local Haitian women, and possibly children, were “sexually exploited by aid workers” in 2011.
