Constantia home has character, style
MANY Constantia homes reflect a rich history that gives them the lingering character of a bygone era, and are then brought to life with modern, tasteful touches.
The home that ClareMart will soon be bringing to auction is no exception, says Sanjeev Boyjoonauth, the auction group’s senior consultant.
Set on a 937m² erf, the home has two large bedrooms which, with sea grass carpets, exude a sense of luxury, style, space and tranquillity, he says.
The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and there is an additional family bathroom.
The living areas include a fully fitted and spacious kitchen and a small lounge/office area that could easily be converted to a guest bedroom.
“Large windows let in an abundance of natural light and the finishes are neat and tasteful, right down to the pristine wooden floors and Jetmaster fireplace,” says Boyjoonauth.
In the garden, the large swimming pool creates a focal point for outdoor entertaining, and there is plenty of space for children and pets to play.
The double barn in the backyard could be used as a garage or storage facility, or both.
“In my view, purchasing this house would be a solid investment in an area where the property prices continue to soar year on year.
“Several property investors have already showed interest in the property, and we believe the upcoming auction will be an exciting and competitive one.”
20 Lochner Road, Deurdrif Constantia, will be on show from 2pm to 5pm onNovember 18,
The on-site auction is scheduled for noon on November 21.

Dan van Zyl, the auctioneer who will conduct the auction, says the newly-renovated property could be sold furnished or unfurnished, whichever the buyer prefers.
The top floor of the property comprises three bedrooms with main en-suite, a second bathroom and a large balcony with built-in braai overlooking the Hottentots Holland Mountains.
Downstairs there is a modern, openplan kitchen with granite tops and a new gas stove and a dining/living room.
“There are high quality finishes, such as laminated floors and built-in cupboards, throughout the home,” he says.
A double garage with automated doors offers direct access into the house and there are also two paved parking spaces.
“The property is completed by a private, walled garden for children and pets to play in, and where dad can braai. The size of the erf is 256m² and the house itself measures about 160m².”
A security gate leading from the grounds of the property provides access to the nearby ocean.
The Cayman Beach Estate complex offers good security, a communal clubhouse, a swimming pool and tennis and squash courts.
Van Zyl believes the auction will provide an opportunity for potential homeowners, investors and speculators to buy a good property at an excellent price in a market where there is demand for rental properties.
The property is currently vacant and it will be possible for the new owner to take early occupation, he says.
All rates, taxes and levies will be paid up to date.
The auction will take place on site at 7 Cayman Beach Road, Cayman Beach Estate, Gordon’s Bay, at 11am on Tuesda. While there will be no reserve price, the sale will be subject to confirmation by the seller, Van Zyl says.
The property may be viewed from 10am on the day of the auction.
No registration fee will be payable. However, the winning bidder will be required to provide an identity document and proof of residential address on the fall of the hammer.
A deposit of 10% of the bid price plus auctioneer’s commission will be payable either by bank-guaranteed cheque or EFT on the day of the auction.
