‘Tiny gecko feet’ make phantom calls

Weekend Post (South Africa) - - World - NZStuff

A gecko accidentally made a “bazillion” prank calls after it lay on top of a phone pressing buttons at an animal hospital.

Dozens of vets, employees and customers of the Marine Mammal Centre in Hawaii were left confused when they starting to receive “incessant phone calls” from a number at the hospital.

Dr Claire Simeone said she had panicked when she started to receive constant calls from a silent caller while away from the hospital buying lunch.

She thought there could be an emergency at the hospital.

When she arrived back at work, all was calm, but other people were calling the hospital asking why they were being phoned incessantly.

The phone company confirmed all the calls were coming from one line.

Simeone then walked around the hospital.

She received another call from the silent caller and walked into the laboratory, discovering the phantom caller.

“There is a gecko sitting on the touchscreen of the phone making calls with his tiny gecko feet!”–
