Northern areas always ignored by politicians

Weekend Post (South Africa) - - This Week You’re Saying... -

I’m one of those loyal “fools” who humbly pays their bills without waiting for an account, but my services were recently blocked and I discovered I was in arrears.

As per the norm, nobody at treasury can give you an acceptable explanation, and with an “aggressive” attitude tell you to pay the penalty and interest.

I now find it very strange that [DA councillor] Retief Odendaal wants to fight our case to have these unfair and unjust charges scrapped, and this when the DA, for whom my family and I voted, has done nothing for the northern areas. But guess what? The elections are looming.

As for my family and I, we will never ever waste our time to vote again, as we have learnt that there is absolutely no political party that has the interest of the people of the northern areas at heart.

All politicians are in this game for their own selfish interest. Lindsay Lippert, via e-mail
