IT is now a known fact that superstar Vijay has been facing a string of flops for the past few years. Vijay’s decision to star in the remake of the Bollywood hit film 3 Idiots has come as a shocker, considering the movie doesn’t add scope to Vijay’s style of heroism.

The buzz from Kollywood suggests that maverick filmmaker Shankar will be directing the film. Gemini Labs, which has acquired the Tamil remake rights of

3 Idiots, is said to be negotiating with some young leading heroes to star alongside Vijay in the film. The hunt for a suitable director to direct the Tamil version has led Gemini Labs to many directors, from Dharani to the Vishnuvardhan, and it has finally roped in Shankar, who is in the final stages of making his Rajnistarrer Enthiran: The Robot.

According to the grapevine, Shankar has agreed in principle to direct the film, but has told the producer of the film not to leak it officially before the release of his own megafilm.

Personally, I think Vijay is totally miscast for the 3 Idiots leading role.
