Fatal corruption fall-out

Weekend Witness - - Opinion -

ALLEGATIONS of corruption and bribery have been made about the Mkondeni driver licensing centre ( Weekend Witness, August 10).

One asks who should be charged? Certainly the corrupt Road Traffic Inspectorate official and the driving school.

But what about the individual who is taking the driving test and prepared to pay a bribe? He or she should also be held accountable for corruption. It suggests that this individual is not confident about his or her driving ability.

As a paramedic, I witness, on a daily basis, people who are inexperienced behind the wheel, who have caused accidents where innocent others are injured, often fatally.
