WHAT IT IS: Off-road cycling. Amy had never tried moun­tain bik­ing be­fore – or done any cycling for that mat­ter – so to prep for go­ing off road, she started with spin­ning classes and strength train­ing. “I’m more sure now than ever that if I don’t get my ex­er­cise done in the morn­ing, I’ll find ev­ery ex­cuse to get out of it in the evening. Also, I find it very hard to mo­ti­vate my­self to go to the gym alone, so com­mit­ting to a ses­sion with a buddy or my boyfriend is what kept me go­ing.
