A study found that forc­ing your­self to sweat more dur­ing the prep stage will mean you re­ab­sorb more salt on the day – essen­tial to stop cramp­ing. Warn­ing: it does mean a few moist months ahead. (Maybe skip if you’re in Cape Town!)
