In­stead of a fin­ish line, par­tic­i­pants try to keep ahead of the Catcher Car. The race takes place in over 70 lo­ca­tions around the world – at the same time, whether that’s dawn in North Amer­ica or mid­day here in SA. Your en­tire en­try fee goes to spinal- cord re­search.

OLD MU­TUAL TWO OCEANS MARATHON ( 20 April 2019) 21km, 56km

Dubbed the world’s most beau­ti­ful marathon, you’ll run past the pic­turesque Kalk Bay beach huts (In­dian Ocean), along the wind­ing Chap­man’s Peak drive (At­lantic Ocean) and past the lush Kirsten­bosch Na­tional Botan­i­cal Gar­den.

The ul­ti­mate way to have an ac­tive is­land hol­i­day and see the most breath­tak­ing parts of Mau­ri­tius – from moun­tains and forests to cliff edges and pris­tine beaches.

PATAG­O­NIAN I NTER­NA­TIONAL MARATHON, CHILE (8 Septem­ber 2018) 10km, 21.1km, 42.2km

This is as far off the beaten track as you can get – run through Tor­res del Paine Na­tional Park, home to elec­tric- blue ice­bergs and the jagged, gran­ite peaks of the Paine moun­tain range.
