A study pub­lished in The Amer­i­can Jour­nal of Clin­i­cal Nutri­tion found that eat­ing soup with an umami flavour­ing (you know, that mor­eish, savoury taste) en­hanced sati­ety and re­duced con­sump­tion at the next meal com­pared with soup with­out.
