The Ghost Squad

A specialist unit of South Africa’s traffic services, known as the Ghost Squad, is tasked with making our roads safer by apprehending illegal drivers, speedsters and other drivers posing a threat to road safety. They’ve been operating in unmarked vehicles

WOW (Women on Wheels) - - WOW -

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

Keep in mind that any of these unmarked vehicles could be round you on the road, so it’s never worth breaking the speed limit or driving recklessly. They’re there to keep us safe.

These vehicles are fitted with cameras that carefully scan number plates to determine whether a vehicle is listed as having outstanding fines, warrants, or if there’s any illegal concern.

Although the Ghost Squad’s vehicles are unmarked, the officers in them are dressed in uniform and have a considerable amount of experience.

If a member of the Ghost Squad pulls you over, you need to comply as you would with any regular metro police officer.
