Making sure their three growing boys always have something nutritious to eat when they’re hungry can be challenging, Aletté admits. “The foods they like and the foods that are good for them are not necessarily the same thing!” she says. “But as a rule we try to incorporate as many vegetables as possible. Even if we have no time to cook and we have a precooked meal, we get those sachets of butternut and other puréed vegetables that I buy for my baby and sneak those into the older boys’ meals – they don’t even know about it!” she says.
