CHANGING HABITS

YOU Best Diets - - Family Diet -

DID YOU ENJOY THIS DIET?

I did because it didn’t feel like I was on a diet. I was constantly full and never craved anything, unlike with my past diets.

WHAT WERE THE DRAWBACKS?

The worst part for me was that I got tired of eating so much, the amount of food was just a bit much for me. Normally, I don’t eat more than twice a day and I eat small portions at a time – I’ll have half a sandwich for lunch and sometimes I don’t even eat dinner. So on this diet I was always full!

WAS THERE ENOUGH VARIETY?

Most of the ingredients were easy to find and there was a lot to choose from. I trained myself over the years to cut out carbs, so reintroducing them into my diet was a bit of a challenge. But while I was on the eating plan, I felt healthier and more confident.

WAS IT EASY TO STICKTO?

The plan wasn’t hard to stick to as it included most of the food groups. My family phased in and out though. It was a bit overwhelming for my sons at times because there was a lot of different foods on their plate at one time – they usually just want simple things like viennas! My husband eventually gave up because he hates vegetables and only likes to eat lamb.

WOULD YOU RECOMMEND IT?

Most definitely! Although it’s only a 21-day eating plan the diet changes your eating habits for the better.

WHAT’S YOUR ADVICE?

Drink lots of water in between meals, try to be active – walk up the stairs instead of taking the lift, walk more generally and snack on vegetables if you get hungry between meals.

‘I’m not even dieting any more – it’s become my lifestyle’
