SERVES 6 Prepa­ra­tion time: 20 min Cook­ing time: 15 min

SAUCE 15 ml (1 T) oil 1 onion, sliced 2 ml (½ t) ground

co­rian­der 15 ml (1 T) mild

roasted curry

pow­der 2 ml (½ t) ground

cumin 2 ml (½ t) ground

gin­ger 500 ml (2 c) cream or half milk/ half cream salt and pep­per 60 ml (¼ c) chopped fresh co­rian­der 160 ml (₂⁄₃ c) sul­tanas, soaked in boil­ing wa­ter 2 ba­nanas, sliced MEAT 6 pork neck steaks salt and pep­per oil salad and braaied sand­wiches (op­tional) to serve 1 Sauce Heat the oil in a saucepan and fry the onion un­til glossy. Mix in the spices. 2 Add the cream or milk/cream, sea­son and bring to the boil. Sim­mer un­til the sauce is fra­grant and has thick­ened slightly. 3 Stir in the co­rian­der, sul­tanas and ba­nanas. Set aside. 4 Meat Sea­son the steaks with salt and pep­per, rub with oil and braai over mod­er­ate-to-hot coals un­til done, about 15 min­utes. Turn of­ten and be care­ful not to over- cook the meat. 5 Spoon the sauce over the meat and serve with salad and braaied sand­wiches (recipe on page 85), if you like.
