CHAKALAKA HOT DOGS

CHAKALAKA

15 ml (1 T) oil or but­ter 1 onion, chopped

1 clove gar­lic, crushed 1 each red, yel­low and

green pep­pers, chopped 5 ml (1 t) curry pow­der 1 can (410 g) to­ma­toes in

juice 1 can (410 g) baked beans 30 ml (2 T) hot chut­ney 30 ml (2 T) sweet chilli

sauce

1 French loaf, halved

500 g boere­wors chopped pars­ley to

gar­nish

1 Chakalaka Heat the oil or but­ter and stir-fry the onion, gar­lic and pep­pers un­til soft. Add the curry pow­der and mix. Add the re­main­ing in­gre­di­ents and sim­mer un­til fra­grant.

2 Hot dogs Lightly toast the bread, if pre­ferred. Braai the boere­wors over the coals un­til done.

3 Put a piece of sausage in each roll and spoon the chakalaka on top. Gar­nish with chopped pars­ley. SIBAHLE DURU, EAST LONDON, EAST­ERN CAPE
