Chakalaka hot dogs
CHAKALAKA HOT DOGS
15 ml (1 T) oil or butter 1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed 1 each red, yellow and
green peppers, chopped 5 ml (1 t) curry powder 1 can (410 g) tomatoes in
juice 1 can (410 g) baked beans 30 ml (2 T) hot chutney 30 ml (2 T) sweet chilli
1 French loaf, halved
500 g boerewors chopped parsley to
1 Chakalaka Heat the oil or butter and stir-fry the onion, garlic and peppers until soft. Add the curry powder and mix. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer until fragrant.
2 Hot dogs Lightly toast the bread, if preferred. Braai the boerewors over the coals until done.
3 Put a piece of sausage in each roll and spoon the chakalaka on top. Garnish with chopped parsley. SIBAHLE DURU, EAST LONDON, EASTERN CAPE
