Apple tart samoosas
This yummy variation of an apple tart is easy to eat and the perfect sweet treat for a lunchbox.

4 phyllo pastry sheets 100 g butter, melted 30 ml (2 T) brown sugar 1 ml (¼ t) cinnamon 50 g pecan nuts, chopped 2 cans (400 g each) pie apples 60 ml (¼ c) brown sugar 125 ml (½ c) raisins 5 ml (1 t) grated lemon zest extra brown sugar and chopped nuts for sprinkling Preheat the oven to 180 °C. 1 Brush the pastry sheets with the melted butter. Sprinkle with the sugar, cinnamon and nuts. Layer the sheets on top of one another in twos, then cut in half. 2 Mix the apples, 60 ml brown sugar, raisins and zest. Put a spoonful of the mixture on one end of a pastry half, fold a corner over the filling and continue folding to make the samoosa. Seal with melted butter. Repeat with remaining ingredients. 3 Brush the samoosas with melted butter, sprinkle with a little brown sugar and chopped nuts and bake for 20 minutes.
