To P Bald­win, who said men would start re­spect­ing women if they cov­ered up (YOU Say, 2 Novem­ber): men were dis­re­spect­ing women even in the times when women weren’t al­lowed to show their an­kles. It hap­pens in all cul­tures, re­gard­less of how women dress or how much they “cover up”.

Per­haps some­one should teach men to re­spect women as peo­ple and not for what they choose to wear, in­stead of polic­ing what women do with their bod­ies. KIRA, EMAIL
