DIAMONDS and gold aren't South Africa’s only precious commodities. In fact, coal is more important to the economy than gold. Coal mining is one of the country’s most important industries – SA generates most of its electricity by burning coal and many people are employed in mining it. Many of us also use coal to get the fire started for a braai!
