Thriller. With John Cho, De­bra Mess­ing and Michelle La. Di­rec­tor: Aneesh Cha­ganty. 13DLV. It’s prob­a­bly ev­ery par­ent’s worst fear and dilemma: do you re­spect your child’s pri­vacy or should you in­vade their in­ti­mate cy­ber­world if some­thing trou­bles you?

This is the prob­lem faced by David Kim (Cho) when he sus­pects his 16-year-old daugh­ter, Margot (La), might be in dan­ger. She’s dis­ap­peared, and David might be able to find her if he can fol­low her dig­i­tal footprints by hack­ing her lap­top.

Join­ing forces with de­tec­tive Vick (Mess­ing from Will & Grace), they scour Face­book, YouTube, In­sta­gram and other so­cial me­dia, look­ing for clues. And you feel David’s pain when he makes dis­cov­er­ies about the daugh­ter he thought he knew.

The en­tire movie is filmed as if it’s seen on a com­puter or smart­phone screen – which some view­ers might find bor­ing.
