1 First-timers to yoga are best off prac­tis­ing under the guid­ance of a qual­i­fied teacher, and should prefer­ably start af­ter the first trimester. If you don’t have ac­cess to a yoga class, take these moves slowly.

2 As your body re­leases the hor­mone re­laxin, you can be­come quite flex­i­ble – be re­spon­si­ble and never over­stretch. Stop if you feel pain.

3 Be care­ful of bal­anc­ing postures and make sure you are near a wall, as your bal­ance be­comes less re­li­able as your tummy gets big­ger (and your cen­tre of grav­ity shifts).
