Crime fighting should be a coordinated initiative

Zululand Observer - Monday - - ZO LETTERS -

Crime seems to be on the increase in our city. This in spite of the tireless efforts of some individuals - Tania (who seldom sleeps), Donald and Rodney, among others, in our Veldenvlei area, together with patrollers.

Many security firms are also very active. They compete with one another for clients, which is understandable.

SAPS also continue their struggle under many constraints and are willing to risk their lives for our safety.

But would it not sound the death knell to criminals if everyone could work together in complete cooperation?

Would the formation of a Ratepayers Association be a step in the right direction?

Such an organisation could have some clout in influencing our Council to spend our money wisely to increase the safety of our community.

Thank you to all the good people who work selflessly for the safety of our community.
