Bay brought down to earth by heavy losses
THE realities of life in the big rugby league were forcefully brought home as Richards Bay went down 64-0 to College Rovers in their Fidelity Security Premier League Moor Cup match last Friday.
This was a rude awakening - and perhaps a good thing - after victories in their first two games may have made them over-confident.
Rovers dominated the entire match and the Bay boys were forced to defend for the full 80 minutes, with most of the points conceded late in the game when they ran out of steam.
The second side fared marginally better, with a 56-7 losing scoreline, while the Under 20s suffered a 29-0 defeat to Durban Collegians.
Richards Bay will have plenty of time to regroup and restore their focus before they travel to Amanzimtoti for their next league fixture on 4 May.
