Hijacking attempt

Zululand Observer - Monday - - ZO NEWS - Tamlyn Jolly

POLICE are on the lookout for a black Golf with tinted windows, and its four male occupants in connection with an attempted hijacking in Mtunzini last week. The incident occurred on Thursday evening outside the Mtunzini Country Club. According to reports, a man parked his car at the country club and left a passenger inside the vehicle while he went to the reception desk. The men in the Golf drove in to the country club parking area reportedly to steal the vehicle, but when they opened the car door and saw the passenger, they pulled their weapons on the occupant. An eyewitness reportedly shouted for police to be contacted and the suspects fled the scene without harming anyone. The Golf’s registration plate has reportedly been flagged on the traffic system as a false number belonging to another vehicle. People who have seen the vehicle in question are urged to contact Mtunzini SAPS.
