DOWNSTREAM ALUMINUM CENTRE FOR TECHNOLOGY
The Downstream Aluminium Centre for Technology in Richards Bay, South Africa started off as a training facility, funded through BHP Billiton and administered by the Zululand Chamber of Business Foundation. When the Department of Trade and Industry pledged their support, the focus shifted to provide incubating facilities and services specifically for start-up SMME’s. DACT has since developed into an incubating facility and hosts businesses in the metal fabrication, welding and aluminium casting industries. Clients of DACT can use the infrastructure, equipment and tools provided at part subsidized rates. Some of the shared services provided include technical and business advice, internet facilities and assistance with financial and other administration. King Cetshwayo has appointed DACT to support SMMEs in the metal and steel sector by establishing and developing their businesses. Candidates with entrepreneurial flair and who are interested in running their own business are invited to attend an information session. If you are committed to starting your own business in this industry, please attend the open day.
