Lo­cals turn up the vol­ume for the records

The North Coast Rid­ers Club re­cently held it’s Na­tional SA Record Show at the Um­folozi Casino Re­sort.

The event was ap­proved by the United States Auto sound Com­pe­ti­tion In­ter­na­tional (US­ACI) and al­lows mem­bers to com­pete in the cat­e­gories of show and shine and loud­est deci­bel (dB), which in­cludes Team Ac­cu­mu­lated dB.

Event co­or­di­na­tor Kevin Reddy said the event al­lows mem­bers to com­pete with peo­ple in other prov­inces as well as the world.

‘The scores are up­loaded onto the US­ACI web­site as well as the Termpro web­site for all to view all around the world.

‘Rank­ings can also be viewed on the web­site,’ said Reddy.

Mem­bers from Durban, Stanger, eShowe, Gingindlovu, Richards Bay and Em­pan­geni com­peted in the event.

Richards Bay ex­celled win­ning the Team Ac­cu­mu­lated dB, while Pre­ston Goven­der won in the over­all loud­est dB cat­e­gory.

Mo­hanka Nair walked away with first and sec­ond prizes in the show and shine cat­e­gory for her V8 Ford Fair­lane 500 and her V8 Ford Granada.

Reddy con­grat­u­lated the win­ners and said the next show should take place some­time in July or Au­gust, pend­ing ap­proval by the US­ACI.
