Locals turn up the volume for the records
The North Coast Riders Club recently held it’s National SA Record Show at the Umfolozi Casino Resort.
The event was approved by the United States Auto sound Competition International (USACI) and allows members to compete in the categories of show and shine and loudest decibel (dB), which includes Team Accumulated dB.
Event coordinator Kevin Reddy said the event allows members to compete with people in other provinces as well as the world.
‘The scores are uploaded onto the USACI website as well as the Termpro website for all to view all around the world.
‘Rankings can also be viewed on the website,’ said Reddy.
Members from Durban, Stanger, eShowe, Gingindlovu, Richards Bay and Empangeni competed in the event.
Richards Bay excelled winning the Team Accumulated dB, while Preston Govender won in the overall loudest dB category.
Mohanka Nair walked away with first and second prizes in the show and shine category for her V8 Ford Fairlane 500 and her V8 Ford Granada.
Reddy congratulated the winners and said the next show should take place sometime in July or August, pending approval by the USACI.
