Es­say writ­ing com­pe­ti­tion for Grade 11 learn­ers

ARE you pas­sion­ate about writ­ing? Then en­ter the lo­cal Busi­ness­women’s As­so­ci­a­tion (BWA) an­nual school es­say com­pe­ti­tion. Grade 11 learn­ers through­out Zu­l­u­land are en­cour­aged to sub­mit their work. The topic is: ‘South Africa cel­e­brated the cen­te­nary of one of the world’s great­est lead­ers, Nel­son Man­dela this year. What does his legacy mean to you and how will you con­tinue his legacy?’

Sub­mit­ted es­says, in English, must be an orig­i­nal piece of work no longer than 500 words.

En­tries should be clearly marked un­der the head­ing ‘BWA Zu­l­u­land school es­say com­pe­ti­tion’ and in­clude the pupil’s name, con­tact de­tails and name of school.

Open to boys and girls, this year’s win­ning prizes in­clude two tablets, spon­sored by Richards Bay Coal Ter­mi­nal and Se­eff Richards Bay re­spec­tively.

En­tries should be emailed to zu­l­u­ and must be re­ceived by no later than 5pm on Mon­day, 22 Oc­to­ber.

Win­ners will be an­nounced on Satur­day, 24 Novem­ber.
