Bell tolls for in­dus­try stal­wart

POP­U­LAR Zu­l­u­land res­i­dent Clive Bar­rett passed away on Sun­day after a long and brave bat­tle against can­cer.

Clive, a well known busi­ness­man, joined Bell Equip­ment in 1977 and served as Lo­gis­tics Man­ager un­til Jan­uary 2004, when he was ap­pointed Global Parts Sup­ply Man­ager.

His ca­reer suc­cess pro­gressed and in 2004 he was pro­moted to Di­rec­tor: Group Parts Mar­ket­ing.

De­spite re­tir­ing at age 65 in 2010 to a qui­eter life in the vil­lage of Mtun­zini with his beloved wife Hil­lary, Clive re­mained on con­tract to the com­pany to man­age var­i­ous pur­chas­ing projects ow­ing to his ex­ten­sive knowl­edge and ex­pe­ri­ence.

He is sur­vived by Hillery and their two sons, Mark and John.

A me­mo­rial ser­vice will be held to cel­e­brate Clive’s life on Satur­day, 20 Oc­to­ber at 11am at the Mtun­zini Coun­try Club.
