Christmas Carols by the Choir
at La Cala de Mijas Ayuntamiento. T.I.M.S will be performing their yearly Christmas Carols concert. The Choir has been performing for Mijas Ayuntamiento for over 15 Years so It is very special occasion for the Choir.
The choir recently participated at the Salina del Sol II on Sunday October 8 which saw the final concert of the week-long series of concerts held at the Avanto Beachside Restaurant in La Cala de Mijas during the music and arts festival "Salida del Sol". This was supported by the Marbella Guadalmina Rotary Club, Costa Women and the Asociacion de Arte y Cultura Marbella.
There was a wonderful array of musical talent from artistes reprising pieces from their performances in earlier concerts in the first half including David Lau Magnussen on the piano, Marisol Lee on the violin, and Jacob Shaw on the cello.
The International Music Society ( TIMS) sang a rousing range of stirring songs from the 'last night of the proms', the well-known annual series of Promenade Concerts held in the Albert Hall in London, where the Victorian favourites such as Land of Hope and Glor are aired and sung along to by the audience.
Despite there being an audience of many nationalities everybody appreciated the enthusiasm and virtuosity of the choir and many joined in the singing, with two encores!
A superb night and a good cause, Cudeca, helped by a donation from every ticket By Mary Page STAFF and Volunteers at the ADANA Dog Rescue and Rehoming Centre in the Parque de los Pedregales Estepona were delighted to receive a visit from a group of senior citizens from the Isdabe Residencia organised by social worker and Estepona councillor Manuela Benitez.
The visitors were welcomed by ADANA Board Members Mary Page and Reg Winkworth and were served with sandwiches, cakes and drink prepared by Board Member Susie Brown.
Long time ADANA employee and Deputy Kennel Manager Fernando Amores Gil explained to the visitors the history of ADANA and the work it does rescuing unwanted abandoned dogs and finding homes for them. Some of the more mobile visitors explored the shelter and its surroundings whilst others sat and cuddled puppies.
Manuela thanked ADANA and said the visitors had thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were looking forward to further opportunities to get to know ADANA and its dogs.
