Back to the bottom
Almería 0 – 2 Cádiz
Almería plunged to the depths of the table last weekend following a home defeat at the hands of Andalucian rivals, Cádiz.
The score-line failed to tell the whole story, as for much of the game Almería were the stronger side, creating chances and challenging the visitors’ defence. Lack of concentration got the better of the ‘Rojiblancos’ and Salvi took advantage of the situation with two goals, one just before the break and one just after.
Almería never really got back in the game and found themselves third from bottom and for the second year in a row, fighting for survival.
The loss - Almería’s third in as many weeks - left fans calling for the sacking of coach Luis Miguel Ramis, but club president Alfonso Garcia defended the Tarragonan manager saying there was “a lot wrong at the club” but that he would not be making any changes.
Almería travel to face fellow strugglers Albacete this weekend and need to pull out all the stops if they are to rescue their, so far dismal, season.
