On­dara and Benissa bull-run in­juries

Two more bull-running in­juries have blighted Ma­rina Alta sum­mer fes­ti­vals this week.

In Ben­i­marco ( an area shared be­tween Benissa and Teu­lada), an 11-year-old boy was in­jured in the head and an­kle when a young bull man­aged to es­caped the pre­pared precinct.

The boy had climb up a lorry cab step and pan­icked when he saw the an­i­mal. He jumped down, in­jur­ing his head, and the bull gored him slightly in the an­kle.

He was taken to Dé­nia hospi­tal with mi­nor in­juries.

In On­dara, an 18-year-old woman tripped in the bull ring on Fri­day just as the an­i­mals were be­ing re­leased. She got up from the floor at the wrong mo­ment – just as a heifer was head­ing for her.

Luck­ily, she was only head­but­ted in the chest, not gored. The woman was taken to Dé­nia hospi­tal for a checkup.
