Ondara and Benissa bull-run injuries
Two more bull-running injuries have blighted Marina Alta summer festivals this week.
In Benimarco ( an area shared between Benissa and Teulada), an 11-year-old boy was injured in the head and ankle when a young bull managed to escaped the prepared precinct.
The boy had climb up a lorry cab step and panicked when he saw the animal. He jumped down, injuring his head, and the bull gored him slightly in the ankle.
He was taken to Dénia hospital with minor injuries.
In Ondara, an 18-year-old woman tripped in the bull ring on Friday just as the animals were being released. She got up from the floor at the wrong moment – just as a heifer was heading for her.
Luckily, she was only headbutted in the chest, not gored. The woman was taken to Dénia hospital for a checkup.
