NO IBI TAX RISE FOR TEULADA-MORAIRA
Council drops rate to compensate for increase in rateable values
THE SPANISH treasury has increased property tax (IBI) in Teulada-Moraira by 5% to adjust estimated property values to equal that of actual values.
This measure is being applied to a total of 2,452 municipalities in Spain. However, during the last town hall meeting Teulada-Moraira council unanimously approved plans to lower property tax, so property owners will not suffer any increase at all.
Carlos Linares, mayor of Teulada-Moraira, explained that not only does he want to avoid Teulada-Moraira owners paying one single euro more in property tax, but he is even working on being able to offer a considerable tax reduction next year.
Teulada-Moraira councillor Daniel Ibanco has announced that a legal service for young people will be available during 2017.
Legal specialists will advise on all kinds of issues such as divorce, separation, inheritance, mortgages, property issues, entrepreneurship and employment, legal advice for professionals, jobs or traineeship outside of Spain, and all types of medical care options.
In Teulada, the service is available on February 3, March 3, April 7 and May 5 at the Youth Information Centre in Teulada from 17.00 to 20.00, and in Moraira on January 27, February 17, March 24, April 21 and May 19 at the Senieta Hall, also from 17.00 to 20.00. The service will continue until December.
Councillor Ibanco was very pleased with the service last year, which had been used by numerous people. Anybody in- terested should book an appointment in advance by cal- ling Teulada town hall on 96 574 0158 extension 1804.
