CALPE FACES IBI PROPERTY TAX SHOCK

Costa Blanca News (North Edition) - - FRONT PAGE -

The IBI property tax will not be increased in 2017 for residents of San Vicente del Raspeig.

The announcement was made earlier this week by town hall representatives, who explained they will 'reduce the tax by 4% so that the bill remains the same' after taking into account the increase in the catastral value that has been put into effect.

Even with the 4% decrease, the town hall still explained it will make €635,000 in relation to the IBI by properly applying current rules and legislation, which will reportedly uncover numerous works performed during 2016 on town houses that had not been declared and had therefore not been accounted for.

This is the second consecutive year that such a measure has been taken, after initial reports of a 10% IBI increase in 2016 were finally shot down and the cost was maintained at a similar figure as the previous year.
